Post Viral Fatigue and Chronic Pain Recovery Success Story Transcript:
Hi everyone, I just wanted to tell you about my experience with the ANS REWIRE programme. I became ill in 2016. I had an infection which turned into sepsis. And I kind of, I was very ill and I came out of hospital, but then I thought, oh, tomorrow I'll feel better. Tomorrow I'll feel better and tomorrow never came.
In fact, what followed were new symptoms all the time. And I basically had all the symptoms, the kind of things that people that might've brought you to looking at the program. I developed severe fatigue and exhaustion, brain fog, pain issues. Um, poor sleep, poor digestion, lots of problems. And I just felt really ill.
I kind of struggled eventually and got back to work, but I was never ever fully well. Um, and then in 2018, probably about 20 months after my first lot of sepsis, I had exactly the same thing. It was like some horrible Deja vu. I had a second bout, a second infection and about another bout of sepsis. And then I was just so poorly.
I just felt like my life had kind of come to an end. And during the time I was ill for those two years, I also noticed that my identity changed my identity. I felt like an unwell person. And I didn't have any optimism and it was really unpleasant. So that's the kind of thing that brought me to the program.
Somebody recommended it to me. And when I looked at Dan's video where he talks about the symptoms and the diagnosis and those kinds of things, I just knew that like the different doctors had said different things, like the word fibromyalgia had been mentioned, post viral syndrome, chronic fatigue, lots of things, but I hadn't got a definitive one dose, one diagnosis.
However, when I saw that collecting of symptoms, I knew that that was the only thing that made sense about my weird, strange collection of symptoms. And so I decided to give the program a go, because when I did, I was at my lowest point. Um, and I approached the program thinking, well, I've got nothing to lose, but I am going to do it as a test.
As it should be done. So I really made a point of doing everything that the program asked me to do. Um, if we were asked to do a little bit of homework, even if it was something that wasn't particularly relevant to me in terms of symptoms, I did everything I was supposed to do. I did all the sleep hygiene, some of the dietary stuff I couldn't do because I had got another problem with this thing called oxalate.
So I can't eat a plant based diet. It doesn't agree with me, but I just worked with the program and did it. as it, as we were expected to do it. All those things, and it just, I just noticed a change. Slowly at first, little bit of an improvement, 20 percent, and then it just got better and better. The thing that seemed to also make a difference was, I got to a point where I could do a little bit of exercise, so I joined a gym, and I was only doing really, really, Barely lifting my arms and legs in these balance classes, but the instructors were really encouraging and I suppose how I would say For me that my story of the program would be I used to stand outside The class waiting for an easy balance class where I was just going to barely do anything and I used to look at people inside The class doing combat, body pump, lifting weights, and I used to think my life's over I'll never do anything like that again That's me kind of finished.
And then I just got to a stage where I thought, do you know what? I'm going to give it a try. And I remember going into a body pump class and the instructor was really encouraging. She said, don't do any weights, just do it with the bar. And when you finish, just leave your stuff. And I did half an hour, didn't do the full class.
I did half an hour. And then I found, so now I can do body pump. I can do combat. I can do all kinds of classes. I don't do huge heavy weights. But I'm just, every time I go into a class, an exercise, I feel alive. And I, so I don't ever worry about symptoms now. So, for me, I'm a different person. And I'm a happier person than I was before I had, before I was ill.
And before I started the program. So, I would definitely encourage anybody to give the program a try. Stick with it. When you finish the videos, just keep going with the things that you've learned, and you'll notice that over time, things will improve. So, and also with fitness, it's taken me two years.
Sometimes you might read a magazine that says, Just do this fitness program and in six weeks you'll feel better. No, you won't. I did gentle, gradual exercise for maybe two years, and now I can't believe that I can do the things that I can do. In fact, two weeks ago, for the first time in my entire life, I managed to do a press up, a full press up.
I couldn't believe it. I was ecstatic. So, I think the program really works because it gives you things that you can continue and hold on to, to help you continue to recover. So, give it a go. I definitely would recommend it.
