RECOVERY AT A GLANCE

Julia, from Germany and raised in Namibia, describes a long history of illness that began in childhood, improved for a period, and then worsened again after she returned to Germany at 18. By her late twenties her health deteriorated sharply. She eventually received a formal diagnosis of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) and describes severe fatigue, brain fog, pain, muscle cramping, digestive problems, food intolerances and reactions to everyday chemical exposures.

Before starting ANS REWIRE, Julia says she was mostly bedbound and at times had only enough capacity for a handful of basic daily tasks. In her later detailed interview, she estimates that she was about 50% recovered after six weeks. She says she was feeling fine again at around six months and that it took about a year to be fully back into life.

Julia’s account is also a useful example of a multi-lateral recovery approach. She had already made substantial changes to her environment, diet and meditation practice before ANS REWIRE, then combined the program’s nervous system training and physical strategies with gradual re-engagement and additional support for emotional trauma.

  • Experienced Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). The follow-up interview also confirms diagnoses of histamine intolerance and IBS. In this short testimonial Julia says she had MCS, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia and POTS.
  • Ill for about 22 years in total, across two periods — around 8 years in childhood, followed by about 8 years of good health, then approximately 14 years of illness from age 18 until recovery.
  • Symptoms included severe fatigue/exhaustion, brain fog and difficulty thinking, muscle cramping, widespread pain, nausea, vertigo, headaches, sweating and shaking, heartburn and throat inflammation, bloating, diarrhoea/constipation, abdominal cramping, food/histamine intolerance, and reactions to perfumes, cleaning products, petrol, new products and other chemical exposures.
  • At her worst, mostly bedbound for roughly 1½ years. On better days she might manage a short walk of around 500 metres and return exhausted. In the short testimonial she describes sometimes having only about “five spoons” for basic tasks such as brushing her teeth and going to the toilet.
  • About 6 weeks after starting ANS REWIRE. In the detailed interview Julia estimates she was about 50% recovered by that point, after being mostly bedbound/housebound beforehand.
  • About 1 year after starting ANS REWIRE Julia reports herself as being fully back into life / at “full boost.” Julia also says she was feeling fine again at around 6 months.

Julia’s MCS Symptoms and Chronic Illness Experience

Hello, today I want to share my amazing experience with the ANS REWIRE program with you. My name is Julia Eder. I'm from Germany, raised in Namibia. And I've been working in the office for most of my life. Now I'm going to leave the school. I've been having MCS, ME, CFS fibromyalgia, POTS and everything that comes along with it, like histamine intolerance and all of those lovely intolerances that you get around it.

Worst for me was obviously the MCS where I had like a list of symptoms, which I actually wrote down, but I'm only going to share like the worst symptoms that I had. Which was like the brain fog. No, not knowing what to think anymore, not being able to think. Then cramping muscles, lots of pain and tummy issues, as I said with the older intolerances towards food that just comes along.

Why Julia Chose ANS REWIRE After Other Approaches

Obviously, I also felt like I'm chronically ill and well, Like, I've really had a heavy night behind me, like, lots of alcohol and dancing and fun, but I didn't have the fun part of it. So, yeah I started the ANS REWIRE program because it was not only the rewiring specifically, but it was an all-round program.

It didn't only include the rewiring, which is very essential. , but it also took care of all the physical problems that you had. All the physical ailments that come along with it, because, because I think it's really important to straighten out these first of all, and then go into the rewiring, and because it's, obviously only possible to tell your brain that everything's fine again if everything is fine again.

Things that I've tried before I got to the ANS REWIRE was TCM naturopaths, histamine poor diet, I I tried all types of, um, different food therapies, and they didn't quite work. I must say, though, that I'm still a vegetarian. I do eat different now but I still don't eat meat because so I still live meat free but though I've taken changes in my diet.

Major Progress in About Six Weeks

Well, then I didn't have any hesitations about going into the program because I did my research for three years and then I found the program and I knew it was the thing to do. So when I started the ANS REWIRE program, it took me like six weeks to really get back on track. That is because I was already doing a lot of things that are, I was already handling a lot of tools that Dan will be giving you.

Like meditation, just a small teaser. So it took me like six weeks to get back on track, but to be fully into life again, that took me like a year. So before the program I was basically bed bound, sometimes I had like five spoons a day, which means five tasks to do. Maybe brush my teeth and go to toilet and then, you know, you know, what a spoon is, so I don't have to explain to you.

Back Into Life Again About a Year Later

And now I'm going to lead a school in Ghana. I'm actually in a moving process right now, which is really stressful. And I have the tools to go through that and feel good and be healthy. And yeah, so my life has changed 100%. My message at the end is go through with it.

And. If you don't get it, do it again, do the sessions over and over again. They are really helpful. Get to understand why you got to this ailment and in your life. Also, if you're healed, see that you don't get ill again, because you got to apply this to your life, you to stay in that process of being aware of yourself and taking care of yourself.

Julia also shares her story in a detailed two-part CFS Unravelled interview. It adds important context that is not available in the short testimonial: illness during childhood, a relatively well period from about age 10 to 18, worsening after returning to Germany, a major deterioration around age 29, the process of identifying and formally diagnosing MCS, and the period in which she was mostly bedbound.

The interview also clarifies her recovery milestones. Julia estimates that she reached roughly 50% recovery after about six weeks of ANS REWIRE, says she was feeling fine again around six months, and describes reaching full recovery/full return to life at about one year. She discusses how environmental changes, diet, meditation, nervous system retraining, gradual exposure/re-engagement and work on emotional trauma fit together in her recovery.
